Domino’s given boost as online revenues shoot up
DOMINO’S Pizza said yesterday its online sales have surged by 69 per cent – mainly due to its new iPhone app.
The chain said overall same-store sales rose 9.9 per cent in the 13 weeks to last Sunday taking its sales growth for the year to 12.5 per cent. Including new stores, total sales rose 18 per cent to £115.7m, of which £33m were online.
Chief executive Chris Moore said: “With tough comparatives to beat, yet again our franchisees and store teams, supported by our strong head office operation, have risen to the challenge and delivered excellent like-for-like sales growth.”
Moore added: “As a result of our strong trading in the third quarter and, indeed, the year so far, the board believes it is on track to achieve full-year profitability at the upper end of current market expectations.”
Analysts suggest that annual pre-tax profits could hit £36.5m.
