Collins hat-trick ends Potters challenge
STOKE CITY 3
SWINDON TOWN 4
SWINDON’S James Collins last night scored a hat-trick to eliminate Premier League Stoke City from the Capital One Cup in the most dramatic of fashion.
Goals from strikers Kenwyne Jones, Jonathan Walters and Peter Crouch were not enough to overcome Swindon, managed by Paolo Di Canio, who led 2-0 at half-time through two of striker Collins’s goals.
Collins supplemented Aden Flint’s 105th minute goal – which had made the score 3-2 to the away side – in the last minute of extra time to secure the result.
