Andrew Kail has been appointed as leader of PwC’s UK financial services practice, succeeding Kevin Burrowes who is joining PwC’s executive board as head of clients & markets. Andrew has over 25 years of experience with PwC, having operated in a variety of financial services roles, most recently as head of the FS Assurance practice. He has worked with a large number of our leading clients, and his current client responsibilities include being the lead partner for a number of FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 companies. PwC’s financial services business includes the asset & wealth management, banking & capital markets, insurance and real estate arms.
Morgan McKinley
Global professional services recruiter, Morgan McKinley has appointed Darren Burns as a director in the London office. Darren has experience of running multiple disciplines both within financial services and commerce & industry with particular emphasis in audit, compliance, risk and operations.Darren has 15 years of financial recruitment experience, having previously held senior positions at Hudson and Investigo, where he lead the financial services team.
Mercer Jelf Financial Planning
Mercer, a global health, wealth and careers consultancy, and a wholly owned subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies has announced that Grant Hughes has joined as the head of Mercer Jelf Financial Planning. Grant’s appointment follows the recent brand launch which combines the Mercer and Jelf financial planning teams to deliver a joint proposition. He joins with a background in both regulated wealth management and employee benefit consultancy. After joining the Royal Bank of Scotland Group IFS in 2000 as an independent financial planning manager, Grant went on to become a regional manager as part of the private banking division. From 2012 to 2016 He worked as a director for Barclays Corporate & Employer Solutions, previously holding the roles head of corporate wealth advisory and head of business & benefits advisory, leading teams of both regulated and non-regulated advisers.

WPP’s global brand strategy and design agency, Brand Union has announced the appointment of Alex Clegg as the new UK chief executive. Alex will lead the UK team, and will work closely with Toby Southgate, worldwide CEO, John Shaw, chief product officer and Alex Spark, the chief finance officer. Alex is an industry veteran, having previously held strategic roles at Saatchi & Saatchi, Ammirati Puris Lintas and most recently CEO of Ogilvy Group Vietnam.
