Call for change on UK visa rules
THE government must alter visa rules to make it easier for the UK’s technology start-ups to hire graduates from abroad, a leading think-tank claims today.
A report from Policy Exchange says a skills shortage means firms cannot find enough coders, designers and other highly skilled staff in Britain but tough new immigration rules hinder their ability to hire from other countries.
The report calls on the government to allow start-ups to hire non-EU nationals who have graduated in a relevant topic at a UK university to stay in the country.
