Brits don’t save for a rainy day
The average Briton would only be able to survive financially for a month if they were unable to work, a survey by insurer Unum said. Around one in five employees, 5.5m of the workforce, admitted they have no savings or insurance to support them if they are unable to work. Around one in four said relying on their partner was their only back-up plan, and another quarter said they would ask family members for financial help.
