Aviva sees new business growth but says performance was satisfactory
Aviva has announced this morning that it saw new business growth in its third quarter, although operating capital generation was £1.3bn – the same as last year. Performance, the insurance giant said, has been "satisfactory" but in line with its plan for "cash flow plus growth". Shares have climbed down this morning on the news. (Release)
New business grew 14 per cent over the nine months to 30 September to £571m, with the UK growing five per cent. Marked growth was seen in France (33 per cent), Turkey (40 per cent), Poland (48 per cent) and Asia (43 per cent), with growth markets contributing 22 per cent of value of new business.
