Amazon launches Black Friday pop-up in Shoreditch after data leak hits UK customers
Amazon has today opened a pop-up on London's Shoreditch High Street, just in time for Black Friday weekend.
The Home of Black Friday pop-up store has returned to the capital after its debut last year, and is now located near Amazon's headquarters from Thursday 22 November until Sunday 25.
The shop will feature hundreds of Amazon's best Black Friday deals, as well as host unique experiences, workshops, free samples and giveaways from brands including Playstation, Lego, Xbox, Le Creuset and Canon.
Separated into eight themed zones, the Home of Black Friday store will house a kitchen and living room space, an immersive tech and gaming zone, a kids play area, two bedrooms with beauty and grooming parlours, a home entertainment theatre and a relaxed bar space from the Amazon beer, wine and spirits team.
There's also a Prime Now collection desk inside the shop, so Amazon shoppers nearby can get their Black Friday goodies even quicker.
The opening of the shop comes as Amazon tries to regain footing after being hit by a data leak yesterday, which saw personal details such as email addresses and names of UK and US customers accidentally posted on its website.
Amazon hasn't declared how many customers were affected, but said it has fixed the issue and contacted all those who might have been impacted.
UK data regulator the Information Commissioner's Office said yesterday that it is monitoring the situation.
