Poulsen lined up for Reds debut
NEW signing Christian Poulsen could be set to make his Liverpool bow tonight when Roy Hodgson’s men take on Turkish side Trabzonspor in their Europa League play-off.
The Danish international is being lined up for his first taste of the action since his £4.5m move from Juventus last week as a replacement for Javier Mascherano, who sustained a calf strain in the 1-1 draw with Arsenal.
“He’s in the squad. I haven’t picked the team yet but he’s in the squad and there’s a chance he’ll appear tomorrow,” Hodgson said.
The Reds boss is also without defender Daniel Agger, who is still suffering from concussion after a ball to the face which left him with no recollection of Sunday’s clash. Fabio Aurelio is set to stand by.
Reserve keeper Diego Cavalieri is to join Italian side Cesena, following the arrival of £2.3m stopper Brad Jones.
