Lloris likely to start for Spurs in Europa League trip to Athens
FRANCE goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is likely to tonight start for Tottenham away to Panathinaikos after Brad Friedel was left out of the squad that travelled to Athens.
The £14m summer recruit has, to his obvious distress, remained back up to Friedel since his arrival but Spurs are likely to again select a strong side for a competition manager Andre Villas-Boas has already admitted he hopes to win.
Emmanuel Adebayor, Jake Livermore, Younes Kaboul, Kyle Naughton, Scott Parker and Benoit Assou-Ekotto are all unavailable because of injury, but Villas-Boas otherwise has a full squad from which to choose.
For Liverpool, who are at home to Udinese, Jonjo Shelvey can again be selected and Joe Cole could also return, but injuries to Martin Kelly, Jose Enrique and Lucas will keep them sidelined.
For tonight’s match with Bordeaux, Danny Simpson should return for hosts Newcastle.
