Jobs market set to continue growth
The jobs market will continue to grow up to the end of 2012, according to survey data out this morning, despite continued weakness in the UK economy. The Reed Jobs Index hit 140 in November, the recruiter said, edging up from 139 in October, and a five-month high – 100 represents the situation in December 2009. Martin Warnes, managing director of the firm’s website said London was the “engine room” of the UK’s employment growth, with a four per cent growth in new opportunities over the month. Out of all the sectors, banking registered the biggest proportional improvement in its index, though from a low base, hitting 75 up from 65 in October.
