Iran death stokes protests

A 26-year old woman identified as Neda Agha-Soltan is being hailed as a martyr in Iran after videos of her apparent murder in a protest in Tehran on Saturday have appeared online.<br /><br />Iranians on social networking sites called for mourning for Neda, who was reportedly killed by a sniper from the pro-government Basij militia.<br /><br />Her fiance, Caspian Makan, said that she had been caught up accidentally in the protests.<br /><br />&ldquo;She was near the area, a few streets away from where the main protests were taking place, near the Amir Abad area. She was with her music teacher, sitting in a car and stuck in traffic,&rdquo; he said.<br /><br />&ldquo;She was feeling very tired and very hot. She got out of the car for just for a few minutes.&rdquo;<br /><br />Yesterday hardline Revolutionary Guards said they would crush any fresh resistance from &ldquo;rioters&rdquo;.
