German unemployment rises
German joblessness rose for the third month in a row in June, data showed, signalling that Europe’s largest economy is not immune to the euro debt crisis and cannot be relied on to prop up growth. The Labour Office said yesterday the number of people out of a job rose by a seasonally-adjusted 7,000 to 2.882m in June from 2.875m in May.
