Vodafone is heading to Iran with new connection
Vodafone is entering the newly opened Iranian market in a new tie up after sanctions were eased in the country.
The mobile carrier will partner with Iran's HiWEB to offer business customers service in the country while Vodafone will support various parts of HiWEB's business, including marketing, sales, distribution and Internet of Things services.
"Vodafone’s corporate customers will get the benefit of quality network services in the country – including in rural areas – and HiWEB will be able to access Vodafone’s global expertise to support the roll out of products, infrastructure and the launch of IoT services in Iran," said Vodafone Partner Markets chief executive Diego Massidda.
Iran has just over 75m active mobile subscribers according to research from the Teyf Group think tank.
Sanctions on the country were lifted at the start of the year opening it up to huge potential economic development and foreign investment.
