London has a mini-heatwave coming - after reports suggested the mercury in the UK is set to hit highs of 32 degrees early next week.

The Met Office said temperatures of 30-32°C “look more likely than not across some southern parts of the UK on Monday and Tuesday”.

Though this may not carry on through the week, we welcome any temperature that allows us to ditch our knits...

This week has been relatively breezy with a lot of light winds and clouds as temperatures fell below 20 degrees, although it stayed dry with sunny intervals. We will experience a few showers midweek, developing from late mornings and into the early afternoons.

This summer has been pretty volatile, with floods in parts of the country resulting in June being wettest ever, with record-breaking showers throughout the month.

July, however, was much kinder, with the hottest day of the year on 19 July , as London roasted in temperatures of 29 degrees. The beginning of the month marked the 40th anniversary of the of the 1976 heatwave in the UK.
