British boxer Kell Brook will take on world champion middleweight Gennady Golovkin in a London mega-fight this September.
The two unbeaten fighters will go head-to-head at the O2 Arena in on Saturday September 10 in what is being billed as the "biggest fight of 2016" by promoter Eddie Hearn.
Brook, a world champion in the welterweight division, will step up in weight class to take on knockout king Golovkin who is the lineal middleweight champion.
The Kazakh has won an incredible 91 per cent of his fights within the distance and is considered by many to be the best pound-for-pound boxer on the planet.
For 30-year-old Brook, the meeting represents the toughest test of his career to date as well as the biggest stage he has ever performed on.
“This is the fight and the moment I have been waiting for for some time,” said Brook. “We've tried and tried to lure the best to come and fight me and now we've got the best of the best – the number one pound for pound fighter in the world is coming to the UK.
“When this fight got offered to me I accepted within minutes and I can't wait. Everyone knows I'm a huge welterweight and I know I will carry my speed and accuracy and even more power through the weights. This is the ultimate fight, one of the biggest international fights the country has seen in many years."
