US mourns after Congresswoman shooting
A MOMENT of silence will be held across America today following the shooting of congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, in an attack which left six dead and 14 wounded. The American flag flew at half mast on the US Capitol building in Washington to mourn the dead, after gunman Jared Loughner opened fire in Tucson, Arizona. Giffords was last night said to be responding well to treatment after emergency surgery.
