Revealed: the City’s best (and worst) offices
IN the wake of the British Council for Offices (yes, there is such a thing) awards this week – which saw law firm K&L Gates crowned Best Office of 2012 – The Capitalist has decided to investigate the workplaces that are letting the side down by launching our own inaugural City Slums award.
Having heard tales of a rat spotted sniffing around the credit sales desks of Goldman Sachs recently, The Capitalist is sure there are plenty more to be named and shamed – and is requesting answers on a postcard (or rather by email) to the address above.
Definitely not making the list will be K&L’s swanky pad at One New Change, which not only boasts stunning views over St Paul’s but presumably scored points for its proximity to City rooftop watering hole Madison.
Looks like a change in office policy from the previous work abode, which was reported to have run a strict pencil request system.
Other City premises to leave with silverware were the Heron Tower, (no surprises there) and PwC’s Seven More London Riverside residence.
Goldman yesterday denied there had been any reports of a rodent sighting at the bank’s Fleet Street offices. The firm also declined to comment on rumours it is pressing ahead with plans to build a new £1bn headquarters in Clerkenwell.
