Shepherd officiated in 92 Tests and 172 one-day internationals, with only West Indies’ Steve Bucknor and South Africa’s Rudi Koertzen standing in more Tests. The former Gloucestershire batsman, who retired in 2005, was infamous for his hop at the crease when scores reached multiples of 111.
