KPMG
Kathryn Britten has joined the accountancy firm as a partner and chairman of its growing forensic practice.
Britten has over 30 years of audit and accountancy experience and specialises in professional negligence and commercial dispute issues. She joins KPMG from rival BDO, where she has been the national head of their forensic accounting and dispute resolution team since 2007.
Morgan Stanley
The investment banking group has appointed Michele Bareggi as a managing director and head of fixed income capital markets for Italy.
Bareggi will be responsible for fixed income financing and derivative structuring for clients based in Italy, working closely with colleagues across the firm’s investment banking, capital markets and fixed income divisions.
He brings a wealth of experience to Morgan Stanley, having spent the past seven years at Lehman Brothers and then Nomura Europe, most recently as head of the insurance solutions group.
SWIP
Scottish Widows Investment Partnership has strengthened its private equity team with the appointment of Narcisa Sehovic as an investment manager, responsible for identifying long-term investment opportunities in the Benelux, central and eastern Europe and Italian regions.
She joins from Alphex One, where she was a director in the M&A advisory team, and has also been a director in investment banking at Goldman Sachs.
Huntress
The recruitment firm has appointed Philip Marks, managing director of its professional services division Hamilton Blake, and Di Bradbury, MD of Huntress Commercial, as board directors following a management buyout of Nomura Private Equity’s holding in the company.
The board has also appointed John Pullan and Geoff Lloyd as non-executive directors. Pullan founded accountancy and finance recruiter JP Gray in 2003, while Lloyd also founded his own company, technical recruiter NES, and sold it for £86m in 2006.

The law firm has hired Sean Jeffrey to its contentious regulatory practice as a partner.
Jeffrey joins from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and specialises in advising financial institutions, directors and other senior executives in connection with all aspects of investigations by the FSA and other regulatory bodies in the UK and abroad.

The Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys has elected Alasdair Poore, a partner in the technology and communications team at law firm Mills & Reeve, as its new president.
Poore has 20 years of experience in industry and private practice, advising on and acting in relation to intellectual property, IT and technology law.
