Audience and Newsletter Editor

City A.M. is looking for an audience and newsletters editor to join our newsroom as we continue our digital growth.

This is a key role in the newsroom, working to maximise the distribution of our high-quality journalism and lead our audience development work. As we grow our digital product, we are
looking for someone to play a key role in putting that content in front of as many potential readers as possible.

The right candidate will:
● Use their in-depth knowledge of SEO and analytics to inform City A.M.’s coverage
● Work closely with the editor and news editors to shape City A.M.’s reporting, headlines, and news agenda – including responding to trending topics and responding in real-time to analytics and data feedback
● Curate and optimise thrice-daily newsletters
● Work closely with the social and video team to maximise the impact of our journalism and grow our audiences online
● Manage relationships with external aggregators and partners including Flipboard and Google

The right candidate should have:
● In-depth knowledge of SEO, analytics and audience strategy
● Actionable insights to expand our distribution from day one
● Understanding of the media landscape and publisher audience strategies
● Understanding and experience of driving audience growth for media brands
● Understanding and experience of using external aggregators and referrers to drive audience growth
● Strong communication and collaboration skills as well as being an analytical and creative thinker

Experience in business journalism is preferred but not required, and we welcome applications from those with experience outside of business journalism.

Digital Content & ADOPS Manager

During this minimum 10-month Maternity contract, possibly up to 12 months, you will be a digital technical resource in the team helping to execute content partnerships, build commercial hubs and assist in managing Google Ad Manager and analytics as needed. You will be a part of the Delivery Team at City A.M. and strategically lead Ad Ops to ensure the successful
implementation of digital revenue streams.

We are looking for a flexible go-getter, who welcomes the challenge of meeting the needs of a developing business. We need someone who can get stuck in straight away and start helping the
team in a digital capacity.

Our ideal candidate is passionate about digital content, and it’s essential to have a track record using WordPress, Google Analytics and Google Ad Manager in a commercial publishing
environment. Experience of digital strategy and campaign management would be key also. The sales team will rely on this candidate to pull insights and assist in the execution of commercial
hubs and articles on the City A.M. website, whilst strategically driving digital revenue.


Key Responsibilities

● Ability to build technical editorial and commercial content hubs in WordPress, utilising some core concepts around responsive images & video, gutenberg block setup and page layout
● Analyse results and advise on amplifying content for our clients and implement where needed
● Own overall relationship with clients investing in digital content partnerships with City A.M., including on-boarding and ongoing communication and reporting where required
● Assist in making changes to the City A.M. website when required
● Ability to pull data to an advanced level, to assist in insights for our clients
● Assist the sales team with insights from Google Ad Manager/analytics – this includes things like page views, dwell times and general website analytics
● Train the commercial delivery team on Google Ad Manager, Analytics and WordPress. Encouraging and supporting the team to obtain basic online certification and develop in confidence
● Communicate effectively with both internal and external senior-level management to understand customer needs, maximise retention and growth, and communicate learnings
● Strategise new product and delivery ideas to upsell to existing customers, with your knowledge and technical abilities and working with the sales team to understand what our clients are looking for in the market
●Be knowledgeable on new features and products that could be a good selling opportunity
● Prepare necessary documentation or visuals for clients to demonstrate the performance of campaigns and identify areas for improvement

About You

This role is 100% client-facing, proactively managing and cultivating key industry / client relationships to achieve and exceed group targets.

You will be responsible for engaging with clients within our key markets – Banking & Financial Services, Luxury, Hospitality & Retail  

What You Will Do?
● Identify new sales opportunities and City A.M customers across multiple products, including print, digital, app, video,event and content solutions
● Source and develop your own leads across diverse categories and sectors
● Build a pipeline of business across the whole City AM portfolio
● Own and execute customer communications via telephone, social media, email, in person, in line with standards and processes
● Develop and elevate client relationships at all business levels

Experience
● Demonstrable experience within the Media Sales Landscape
