
THE CITY AM LEAGUE IN ASSOCIATION WITH WILLIAM & SON AT
THE ROYAL BERKSHIRE SHOOTING SCHOOL
CITY AM CHALLENGE LEAGUE – TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- Standard City AM and Clay Pigeon Shooting Association (CPSA) rules apply including: hearing and eye protection is mandatory and 28-gram plastic or fibre wad cartridges only.
- The Competition will commence on Monday 2 June 2008.
- To be eligible teams must represent the financial community and be made up of 3 individuals, at least one being a bona fide member of staff of that company. To re enter at least two of the team must be the same as the original entry team.
- All entries must be pre booked at the Royal Berkshire Shooting School.
- To be eligible to be placed on the League table the course must the shot once. To be eligible for prizes it must be shot at least twice.
- The course is made up of 120 clays.
Individuals shooting 25 – 60 will receive 1 point
Individuals shooting 61 - 90 will receive 2 points
Individuals shooting 91 – 120 will receive 3 points
Therefore the maximum a team can achieve is 18 points
- In the event of 2 teams having the same number of points the highest placed team is calculated on the actual number of clays shot out of 360.
- The cost per team to include 120 clays per gun, cartridges, instructor, hire guns and hearing protection will be £255 + vat.
- No individual will be allowed to use an automatic shotgun.
- In the event of a tie for 10th place the team which has shot the greatest number of actual clays will be the qualifier. In the event that two teams have the same points and number of clays shot the team that posted their score earliest in the competition will be the qualifier.
- Running concurrently with the main challenge will be a separate competition based on the Grouse Stand which will be 20 clays of 120. In a similar vein to the Top Gear scoreboard the top 10 individuals will be able to record their score.
- The overall winner of the League will be presented with a holiday for 4 people courtesy of Humber Valley Resort in Newfoundland. This will be either a week’s salmon fishing or skiing holiday in Newfoundland, inclusive of flights depending on the time of year chosen. All communications regarding the prize will be with Humber Valley only. Under no circumstances should any prize winner communicate directly with the sponsor about his prize without the express consent of Dylan Williams of RBSS. No cash alternative is available for any non-cash prize. Non-cash prizes are not transferable.
- Employees of City AM, William & Son or The Royal Berkshire Shooting School Group will not be eligible for this competition.
- Any individual whose principal source of income is derived from shotgun shooting will not be eligible.
- Any individual classified as an AA shot by The Clay Pigeon Shooting Association will not be eligible
- Neither the organisers, the estate landowners nor the tenants or sponsors will accept responsibility for the loss, damage or injury to persons, their property, vehicles or effects (including guns) while at the venue.
- Shotguns must be unloaded and kept in sleeves while travelling between stands. When out of the sleeve, the gun must be broken. Guns may only be loaded when on the firing point.
- While competitors are welcome to enjoy the clubhouse facilities, no-one may enter the shooting ground area unless accompanied by a Royal Berkshire staff member. All competitors will be accompanied by an instructor during competition who will complete individual scorecards. The instructor’s decision is final.
- Anyone wishing to buy shotgun cartridges at the venue must produce their shotgun certificate with them.
- While casual attire is acceptable, bare flesh under skeet vests and camouflage clothing is not. Bad language and abusive behaviour will not be tolerated. Please do not put us in the difficult position of having to ask you to leave the venue. RBSS and the sponsors reserve the right to deny entry to this competition without explanation.
- Re-entry of the competition is unrestricted. Enter as many times as you like. Individual’s scores will then be entered onto the scoreboard.
- Each week on a Tuesday City AM will publish a league table showing the 25 highest scores in a league format based on the 360 targets shot.
- The sponsors and organisers reserve the right to change the rules and prize fund without notice. They also reserve the right to review an individual’s entry and decline an invitation to the final without any written or verbal explanation. The decision of City AM and The Royal Berkshire Shooting School is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- In the event any individual is deemed to be contravening the rules set or the spirit of the competition or for any other reason they will not partake in the League and no correspondence will be entered in to.
The Final
The top 10 teams will be invited to the City AM Challenge Final as guests of the sponsors on Tuesday 14 October 2008
The Final will be open to 70 other individuals who can attend as paying guests for a separate cost of £125 + vat per person
The winning team score for the final in October will receive the City AM Trophy
Other categories benefiting from prizes at the Final will include top side by side, best banker, best accountant etc.
The team entering the most will also be invited to the final.
