Cameron squares up to France and Argentina at G20 summit
PRIME Minister David Cameron bluntly criticised French President Francois Hollande yesterday over his tax plans for top earners.
Speaking at the G20 he said: “If the French go ahead with a 75 per cent top rate of tax we will roll out the red carpet and welcome more French businesses to Britain and they can pay tax in Britain and pay for our health service and schools and everything else.”
He also warned against a “slide towards protectionism”, reminding Argentinean leader Cristina Kirchner that Britain believes Falkland Islanders should determine their own future.
At the Mexican summit the Prime Minister urged sweeping economic reforms in Europe to avoid “perpetual stagnation”.
