Yahoo's first shareholder meeting under Mayer looks at pushing the mobile app market and attracting talent

Yahoo’s first annual shareholder meeting under Marissa Mayer focused largely on the push towards mobile products and services, with Mayer citing the Weather app and Flickr as areas of particular success.

The company also said it will be concentrating on its recruitment. "Companies with the best talent win and that's why Yahoo has been focused for the last several months to become the best place to work," said Mayer.

Shareholders approved of a number of proposed items, including ten nominees for the board of directors, executive compensation levels, and the appointment of PwC as Yahoo’s registered public accounting firm.

Two proposals failed to win approval. The first was for Yahoo to begin publishing an annual Corporate Social Responsibility report focusing on human rights, and the second for the filing of a report disclosing political contributions.
