Pub chain Wetherspoons has announced that it has acquired a license to open its first licensed bar and restaurant, on the M40 at Junction 2 in Buckinghamshire.
The firm plans to invest more than £2m on the development, and it is expected to create 50 jobs.
Wetherspoon chairman Tim Martin said:
We are looking forward to opening our firstlicensed bar and restaurant on the motorway network.
The company has always been innovative and this is an exciting new development forus.
Hopefully it will be the first of many Wetherspoon’s on the Motorway.
