US 10-year Treasury yields soar to 2.77 per cent after Bernanke's comments

The US Treasury market is the only big mover today, as 10-year Treasury yields have just hit 2.77 per cent. Earlier they passed 2.5 per cent for the first time since August 2011.

At present the Federal Reserve purchases $45bn of Treasuries a month. Before Fed chairman Ben Bernanke's comments earlier this week they were at 2.21 per cent.
