Richard to stay as France Telecom boss

The executive board of France Telecom has agreed to keep Stephane Richard on in his role as chief executive. Richard is currently under formal investigation by French authorities for allegedly committing fraud.

Richard was detained last Monday in relation to a €400m (£340m) payout to businessman Bernard Tapie in 2008, when Richard worked for the French treasury. He was hospitalised for fatigue today after two days of questioning.

[The board] renews its full confidence in Stephane Richard.
