Before the open - 11/07

Markets are expected to open much higher after Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke made dovish comments last night. IG are calling the FTSE 100 up over 100 points at the open.

Quite quiet on the macro front today, here are our key events:

  • Frances sees inflation data in a range of flavours at 07.45.
  • The European Central Bank releases its monthly report at 09.00.
  • Several numbers out of the US in the afternoon. Economists are expecting initial jobless claims to fall from 343,000 to 340,000 this week. That along with continuining claims, import and export price index data at 13.30.
  • A speech by the Fed's Daniel Tarullo at 16.00. Thomson Reuter's dove-hawk scale has Tarullo down as a dove.
