Apple is exploring the idea of a bigger iPhone, as well as cheaper models in multiple colours, four people with knowledge of the matter have told Reuters.
The company is planning to release at least two larger iPhones next year, one with a 4.7” screen, another with a 5.7” screen. By comparison, the current model, the iPhone 5 is 4.87”.
This year, Apple is expected to release the iPhone 5S, which will operate on the new iOS 7 operating system with flatter icons, lots of white backgrounds, a radio service and a female Siri. It will also be available in a cheaper casing (potentially retailing at $99), which will be available in five to six colours.
Rival Samsung has also released a cheaper phone, the Galaxy Ace 3, although this one will be smaller than its predecessors.
