The number of passengers flying with budget airliner easyJet increased by 4.9 per cent in the year ending June 2013 compared to the 12 months to June 2012.
In the year ending June 2012, the airliner carried 57.37m passengers, rising to 60.15 in the year to June 2013.
The load factor, i.e. the number of passengers as a proportion of the number of seats available, decreased slightly from 89.2 per cent to 88.7 per cent.
On a month-by-month basis, easyJet carried 5,434,763 passengers in the month ending June 2013, 1.9 per cent more than a year earlier.
However, the number of flight cancellations rose drastically – from 22 to 585 over the same period – primarily due to the French Air Traffic Control strike from 11-13 June 2013.
