More strong US data as business inventories rise in January

Following strong retail sales figures business inventory numbers have picked up in the US. They were up one per cent in January from 0.3 per cent (revised from 0.1 per cent) prior. An improvement to 0.4 per cent was anticipated.

The business inventories data released by the US Census Bureau measures the monthly percentage changes in inventories from manufacturers, retailers, and wholesalers. Good data from the US today should carry over well into the next GDP figures.
