Microsoft unveils tweaks to Windows 8 following poor feedback

Microsoft has announced that following poor feedback - what it calls a "substantial" response - it will be introducing tweaks to its Windows 8 operating system.

Branded Windows 8.1, updates will allow users greater opportunities for personalisation of the start screen, a more universal search function and a new system for app management.

Users who felt unable to navigate the newest iteration of the operating system may welcome the return of the familiar Windows logo to access the start screen.
