Jeremy Bennett to head up Nomura's European operations

Japanese bank Nomura has announced that government advisor Jeremy Bennett will head up its EMEA division, taking responsibility for the bank's European operations. Bennett has been working with the government on steps to separate retail and investment banking. If he gets approval from regulators he will now take a role as chief executive of Nomura in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Bennett is already a non-executive director of Nomura Capital Markets and has been an adviser to Britain's Financial Services Authority and the Treasury, and worked for Credit Suisse between 1997 and 2008.
