Italian industrial orders have fallen 10 per cent in the year to March, following a decline of 7.9 per cent in the year previous. Analysts had predicted a decline of just 8.4 per cent. The monthly data was slightly improved, as orders rose by 1.6 per cent, rather than a forecasted rise of 0.6 per cent.
The slump continued in industrial sales, by 7.6 per cent in the year to March. The period before saw revision that took industrial sales down from a fall of four per cent to a heavier six per cent drop.
