Investor sentiment in Germany and the eurozone better than expected in June

German investor sentiment increased by more than expected in June, while European sentiment also improved.

The German economic sentiment published by Mannheim-based think tank Zentrum für Europäische Wirtschaftsforschung (ZEW) rose to 38.5 points from 36.4 in April, compared to expectations of 38.1.

ZEW also surveys the economic sentiment in the European Union, with sentiment growing from 24.9 points in May to 27.6 points in June (versus expectations of 39.0).
