New statistics reveal that Greek unemployment has risen further, to 27 per cent in February, an all time high. Some may recognise that statisticians have reported a higher unemployment rate for Greece in the past, of 27.2 in January. However that number has now seen revisions down to 26.7 per cent.
Youth unemployment rose to nearly two-thirds at 64.2 per cent. The number employed fell by 270,766 versus the same month last year, and by 28,650 against the previous month.
