German economy may grow by just 0.5 per cent this year

The German economy ministry has announced that the German economy is expected to grow by just 0.5 per cent this year, an upwards revision of just 0.1 percentage points. The forecast for 2014 was held at 1.6 per cent.

There is every reason to look to the future with optimism. The German economy is picking up again and is successfully leaving an economic weak phase behind it.
