The consumer price index (CPI) for France increased by 0.8 per cent in May 2013, compared with May 2012, and rose 0.1 percentage points from April 2013. The largest upward contributions to the CPI by far, according to INSEE, came from transport and communication services, offsetting decreases in the prices of housing-related services.

Meanwhile, Italy’s CPI rose 1.1 per cent year-on-year, compared to provisional estimates of 1.2 per cent.

Earlier today, we announced that Germany CPI increased 1.5 per cent in May 2013 from May 2012 and Greece’s fell 0.4 per cent.
