Confused.com profits up for first time in four years

Confused.com, the price comparison website, saw profits rise in 2012 by two per cent to £18m, the first rise in four years. This boosted the profits of its owner, the insurer Admiral, which released profit increases this morning of 15 per cent as its pre-tax profits rose to £344.6m.

Admiral insures one in ten British cars on the road and earned 32.2 million pounds from personal injury and car hire referral fees last year. Its shares are up 4.74 per cent on the stronger than expected figures.
