In Pictures: Stars hit the orange carpet at Veuve Clicquot Award

Claridge's scrapped the red carpet for an orange one last night, as stars piled in for the Veuve Clicquot Businesswoman Award.

There was certainly no shortage of the bubbly stuff as both Thomas Cook's Harriet Green and Jenny Dawson of Rubies in the Rubble picked up gongs and while past winners and runners-up mingled.

There was a strong presence from the fashion world, with handbag goddess Lulu Guinness and Amanda Wakeley there to support Whistles chief Jane Shepherdson, who was up against Green for the top title of Businesswoman of the Year.

Presenter du jour Angela Scanlon was there, battling Jameela Jamil for the title of "the new Alexa Chung" and there were socialites a plenty, no doubt happy to have another excuse to quaff some of Veuve's finest fizz.
