IT SEEMS like only yesterday that the wine was flowing, the bubbles were fizzing, and the City was out in force to celebrate the 2016 City A.M. Awards at Grange St Paul’s Hotel.
Our sixth annual awards ceremony, held last November, was a roaring success, attended by hundreds of London’s top business figures, from sectors as diverse as fintech, law, accountancy, banking, insurance, retail and property.
And now, with nearly half of 2017 behind us, we want to know who’s caught your eye since the turn of the year. Nominations open this morning for a dozen of our categories.
We are looking for the most bold, successful, and principled companies and individuals. During a year of economic uncertainty and political drama, which businesses have negotiated the storm and delivered prosperity for shareholders, employees and customers alike?
The categories are: Business of the Year, Bank of the Year, Insurance Company of the Year, Law Firm of the Year, Accountancy Firm of the Year, Fintech Company of the Year, Innovative Company of the Year, Dealmaker of the Year, Investor of the Year, Analyst of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, and arguably the biggest prize of the night – the 2016 Personality of the Year.
Nominations close on Friday 11 August, so get your thinking caps on. All suggestions will be considered by City A.M.’s experienced editorial team, which selects a shortlist of five for each category. The shortlists will be published one at a time from Monday 11 September.
Simply visit cityam.com/awards/nominate to submit your nomination.
The final decisions are taken by a panel of independent and prestigious judges from the world of business, including Virgin Money boss Jayne-Anne Gadhia, global advertising guru Sir Martin Sorrell from WPP, Sky News' City Editor Mark Kleinman, and many more. The panel meets at City A.M.’s offices to deliberate on each category.
The winners will be revealed at the Grange St. Paul's Hotel on 9 November, at a glamorous ceremony.
Put the date in your diary – you never know, this could be your year.
