WPP makes extra strides into China

SIR MARTIN Sorrell’s advertising giant WPP has made its latest acquisition in China, buying a market research company from Experian.

Sinotrust Market Research has around 350 employees in three offices in China, where WPP has expanded aggressively in recent years as it attempts to offset sluggish growth in its core Western markets.

The price was undisclosed, but WPP said Sinotrust was the market leader in car market research, with annual sales of 255m yuan (£27m).
