WPP buys Bangladeshi research firm

Advertising company WPP said yesterday that Kantar – its consumer insight arm – had bought Bangladeshi market research agency Sirius Marketing & Social Research. The firm, headquartered in Dhaka, has 82 staff and six field offices across the country. WPP said the investment was part of its strategy of developing its communications services in fast-growing markets. “With GDP growth of over six per cent, Bangladesh is one of the fastest-growing markets in the world,” it added in a statement.
