WIKILEAKS FOUNDER DENIED BAIL
WIKILEAKS founder Julian Assange, who has angered US authorities by publishing secret diplomatic cables, was remanded in British custody yesterday over allegations of sex crimes in Sweden. Assange, 39, appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court and was refused bail despite offers of sureties from John Pilger, Jemima Khan and Ken Loach. His lawyer Mark Stephens said WikiLeaks would keep publishing.
