DROPPED vice-captain Shane Watson has reaffirmed his “burning ambition” to represent Australia after announcing his intention to return for the final Test in India.
Watson had warned he would consider his future after being among four players axed for the third Test by coach Mickey Arthur for failing to submit “homework” on how to improve their performance.
India wrapped up the series yesterday with a six-wicket win in Mohali, but Watson is rejoining the squad for this week’s fourth Test.
“I’ve had constructive discussions,” he said. “I’ve a burning ambition to be an Australian Test player for as long as I can be.”
