Luxury interior furnishings group Walker Greenbank's full-year pretax profit nearly tripled, helped by an uptick in demand for luxury goods, and said it was upbeat about its new financial year.
The wallpaper and fabrics maker, whose brands include Harlequin, Morris & Co, Sanderson, and Zoffany, said on Tuesday brand sales in the first 10 weeks of the new financial year was up 8 percent.
"The company's brands achieved their highest-ever level of sales during the autumn selling period, reflecting the strength of our recent product launches... and the positive trends in the luxury interior goods market," said Chairman Terry Stannard in a statement.
The company also raised its final dividend by 60 percent to 0.80 pence, taking the total dividend for the year to 0.95 pence.
For the year ended Jan. 31, pretax profit rose to 4.5 million pounds ($7.4 million) from 1.6 million pounds last year. Revenue grew 14 percent to 68.8 million pounds.
