ENGLAND prop Mako Vunipola would be a unique addition to the British & Irish Lions squad, according to his Saracens club boss Mark McCall.
Lions head coach Warren Gatland, who yesterday appointed former Wales fly-half Neil Jenkins as his assistant, names his provisional squad for the summer tour of Australia on Tuesday.
And McCall believes New-Zealand born Vunipola would be an excellent choice for the No1 shirt.
“Mako is very, very special,” he said. “As a ball carrier, decision maker, defender and someone who can get over the ball I haven’t seen a loose-head prop like that before.
“He’s done well with England. He’s a very young loose-head, but I think he can go to Australia and do a good job with the Lions.”
