UK industrial output rises in April for third month running

UK INDUSTRIAL output rose in April for the third consecutive month, according to official data released today.

Industrial production rose 0.1 per cent in April month-on-month, beating forecasts of a flat reading, after rising 0.7 per cent in March.

The figures indicate a slow and steady recovery for the British economy.

Although manufacturing production fell 0.2 per cent in April, it beat forecasts of a 0.3 per cent drop.
