INVESTMENT bank UBS has poached wealth management executive Bill O’Neill from rival Merrill Lynch as part of a reshuffle of its Wealth Management Research (WMR) unit.
O’Neill was Merrill Lynch Wealth Management’s chief investment officer for EMEA having spent more than 20 years in investment management and research positions.
He has been appointed head of the chief investment office wealth management, the wide-ranging unit within the bank publishing research on economic topics.
As part of the overhaul, Caroline Winckles has been promoted as O’Neill’s deputy.
O’Neill previously held key strategic roles at Barclays Wealth and JP Morgan Asset Management.
