Holiday group TUI Travel said this morning it enjoyed strong trading over the summer season, and was on track to meet full-year expectations.
In its trading update ahead of its results, the world’s biggest holiday operator said it had made an encouraging start to the winter period, with strong online performance in the UK and Nordic area.
Bookings for the winter period are up 14 per cent, and sales are up 32 per cent on last year.
In the UK, bookings for summer 2013 are “significantly outperforming the market”, it added.
Peter Long, chief executive of TUI Travel, said today: “We remain on track to meet our full year expectations, with strong underlying trading offset by the impact of re-translation of fourth quarter Eurozone earnings.
“Our continued outperformance in a challenging macroeconomic environment demonstrates our robust strategy is delivering clear results.”
