Toyota recalls 185,000 vehicles

Toyota was yesterday forced to recall around 185,000 cars due to a malfunction in the electric power steering system, which could make the steering heavier. The Japanese firm is recalling a total of 5,409 cars from the UK, affecting owners of third-generation Yaris models and the Verso-S manufactured between August 2010 and August 2011. No accidents have been reported from this glitch, and drivers will be contacted within the next few weeks. The recall follows Toyota’s contact with around 5,000 UK Prius owners over faulty brakes last month.
